Wednesday 13th June saw the Blundell Bake off take place after school. Competition was fierce this year with 17 teams in the running. Consequently three categories were introduced to make judging easier: Best Big Cake, Best Small Cake and Best Decorated Cake.
The judging panel consisted of Mr Rudd, Mrs Dillon and Mrs Ashworth and after much deliberation the following winners of each category were announced:
Best Big Cake – Unicorn Cake (Olivia McKie Thomson and Hannah Davison – both 9ABO)
Best Small Cakes – Bucket & Spades Cupcakes (Naomi Harrison and Alice Mackinnon – both 10JCW)
Best Decorated Cake – Farm Animals Cake (Ellie Mills and Leina Mistry – both 8NB)
An award for most entertaining bakers also went to Jack Yarwood (8NB) and Owen Hopkins (8MD)!
The following morning at breaktime all the cakes were sold to staff and pupils, raising an astonishing £400 for the Royal British Legion.
Well done to all bakers who took part!
