Well done to our Girls' Football teams who played great football at the Sefton Football Tournament held at Netherton today. Our Y9 B team won their tournament and our Y9/10 A team were runners up. Well done girls! pic.twitter.com/4MoAkQUByl
On the 28th February, I attended a presentation evening at the Athenaeum in Liverpool, where the winner of the Frank Moran Young Writers Competition was to be announced. With over 80 entrants from across Merseyside having entered, it seems amazing that wo of the eight finalists came from Range (the other being Hannah Leyland in Y13).
Although neither of us won the competition, the evening was still extremely enjoyable; after the presentation there was a buffet, and then a guided tour of some of the Athenaeum’s most important rooms, such as the reading room which was recently shown on the BBC’s ‘A House Through Time’.
I am looking forward to entering the competition again next year and would definitely recommend that anyone who enjoys creative writing (and will be over 16) does so too.
